I guess the xml import/export feature and the keyboard-macro capability are a start. Since I'm a programmer by nature, I do hope eventually to find ways to write my own code to automate or simplify editing tasks. (lwks, being a full-featured editor, has a much more capable user interface, whereas TimeBolt makes it simple to focus on the audio waveforms and to toggle each segment on/off.) It also works out nicely, then, that the "a" and "s" keys tend to land me at the boundary between utterances, since TimeBolt has put a cut where I start/stop talking. My workflow there is to have TimeBolt write out an xml file that, when imported into lwks along with the linked mp4 clips, produces a lwks sequence with a huge number of cuts that I can adjust in lwks if I like. I used to work clip by clip, but for a few months now, I've been using a pre-editing tool called TimeBolt to semi-automatically cut out regions of each clip where I'm not talking ("dead air"). I assume "make a print" means export the sequence to a contiguous mp4. I'd completely blanked the fact that I changed it!Īha, I think that makes sense. Mine is actually labelled "Pop out original (2)". Sitting above my "Pop out original" key combination is another, assigned to the N key. And I've just checked the key assignments. Once you're comfortable that it works you will be able to turn it into a macro and then it becomes just a matter of pressing what ever key combination you have assigned to the macro. That all sounds horrendously complicated, but play with it. ![]()
